This Southern New Mexico blog began as …
a strategy to enJoy my new life in the desert Southwest to the max.
When Hubby L. and I relocated from Staten Island to Las Cruces, we took the long way across the country and made it a five-week tour.
I’ve loved traveling since forever. Maybe you can relate?
So from Monticello in Virginia to the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina to the Valley of the Gods in Colorado, each day’s discovery taught me something new about our nation’s beginnings, opportunities, and beyond-belief beauty.
That trip made me hungry to explore even more. Besides, it was fun!
So after the first taste of the sights, sounds, and fabulous salsas in our new hometown, I saw no reason to stop.
I’ve been romancing Southern New Mexico ever since.
Over 60,000 square miles of unique terrain, cuisine, arts, and attractions await you in this luscious and laid-back land south of Albuquerque.
How different it looks and feels from the rest of the country and the more densely populated northern portion of the state will surprise you.
Southern New Mexico is a different world. Let me show it to you.
I hope Romancing SNM inspires you to visit and make the most of the place you call “home.”
Happy Travels,
Melodie
